Yes, the foggy-sky above Buda is turning Berliner: as a result of cooperation between three Budapest-based party organiser teams, the head of Bpitch Control - celebrating its 10th anniversary this year - Ellen Allien performs in Hungary for the first time ever, and together with the live act of French-born Thomas Muller, they take over the top of Gellért hill. In addition to the Berlin stars, NVC and LTC DJs will spin records, and after Budapest spas, the former HQ of the Hungarian TV, and Merlin, the duo of Skylab VJs from Space are going to show us what wild LED installation matches Citadella for the time of the electro-attack from Berlin.
Ellen came into contact with electronic music in 1988 during her stay in London, and from 1991 she started dj-ing in the Berlin underground music scene. Soon she launched her radio show and label named Braincandy. In 1997 she launched the innovative Bpitch Control event series, focusing on futuristic sound, light and video mixing in changing industrial locations in order to fill gaps of berlin nightlife with something new. In 1999, she opened yet another channel to promote the biggest names of the present Berlin electronic scene: Bpitch Control became a label as well, publishing Modeselektor, Moderat, Paul Kalkbrenner, Telefon Tel Aviv, Sascha Funke and of course Ellen herself.

Her first album, Stadtkind (urban kid) came out in 2001, and was a tribute to her home town, proclaiming the re-united German capital after the fall of the wall has always been a great influence on her music. It was followed by her album Berlinette, a cooperation with Apparat in 2003, which established her sound that is hard to categorize, a unique blend of IDM, electronica and minimaltechno, which is very much danceable at the same time. The next step in her cooperation with Apparat was Orchestra of Bubbles, which features the hit Way Out, another milestone in the careers of both.
With world tours behind her back, she prouds herself with her own clothing brand, she is workig on her seventh studio album, and it’s her turn to make the fifth Watergate mixalbum.
The other star of the night is the latest discovery of Bpitch, french-born Thomas Muller who started his career in a live act with Paul Ritch, and right after he moved to Berlin, the label signed him instantly.
